A Winter Farewell
With winter’s close all is coming to fruition
The conquering plan of nature’s rebirth
Blossoms boast their ripened condition
Budding twigs sweep open with mirth
Furtive squirrels gaze out the hollow trees
The air is audible with chirping choirs and buzzing bees
Spring, in its hazy stupor thaws the frost and cold
Nurses the thirsty earth and and breaks winter’s caustic hold
Recall last year on this cyclical world
When the time came, daylight was once again restored
So if winter lingers don’t feel the need to retreat or depart
Simply carry winter on your back, and spring in your heart.
