Locked

To be far away from the shackles' bind,

These fetters that weigh me down to the ground,

Release me from the prison of the mind,

Chained to you I am betrothed and bound.

Through bars I envision your longing face,

A moment from a kiss that I pursue,

I wish to be free and to you displace,

Pardoned is all I need to be with you.

The warden rid the key to the abyss,

The inmates clamor and demand release,

It is love's freedom that I sorely miss,

To be by your side is to be at peace.

Your presence gives hope I cannot ignore,

Then I remember that my soul can soar.
